Chidi Egonu is a highly accomplished industry executive with a wealth of experience spanning the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Energia Limited, where he brings visionary leadership and financial expertise to drive the company’s strategic goals. Prior to assuming this role, Chidi played a pivotal role as the Chief Financial Officer of Energia, where he demonstrated exceptional capability in financial planning, corporate strategy and operational management.

Before his tenure at Energia, Chidi honed his leadership skills as the Financial Controller of South Atlantic Petroleum Limited, where he led the Finance and Control team, ensuring seamless financial operations and regulatory compliance. His career foundation was established at Texaco Nigeria Plc, where he gained extensive experience and rose to the role of Region Accountant (Southeast). Following this, he joined BJ Services Inc., where he served as Nigeria Finance Lead, overseeing critical financial functions and further strengthening his expertise in the oilfield services space.

Chidi’s extensive industry experience is complemented by his dedication to professional excellence. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, reflecting his deep expertise in financial management and governance. Additionally, he is a member of the Institute of Directors, demonstrating his commitment to upholding the highest standards of corporate leadership.
