Mrs. Maryam Bashir

Maryam Bashir is a senior global executive with 30+ years of well-rounded experience across various industries, focused on strategy and business development, operational management, and organizational process improvement. She is a thought leader who provides inspirational leadership company-wide, with a demonstrated ability to help organizations improve outcomes that are beneficial to all stakeholders. 

Maryam is the CEO of CreditCorp Limited, a financial and strategic advisory firm, focused on providing strategic and financial advice to clients that will deliver clear, measurable improvements in business performance and profitability.  She has successfully advised many clients in various industries. 

Prior to starting CreditCorp, Maryam was an Executive Director of United Bank of Africa, a leading commercial banking franchise in Nigeria.  She was responsible for administration and corporate services.  She was pivotal to the transformation of the institution from a quasi-government owned institution to a commercially oriented organization.  She was a core part of the team that executed the transaction that privatized the Bank. 

Maryam has a broad base of board experience having served on many boards including as Chairperson of First Aluminium Nigeria Plc.  She currently serves on the boards of Dangote Sugar Refinery, Cardinal Stone Partners Limited, CAM Dairy Foods Ltd and she is the Chairperson of Cardinal Stone Asset Management Ltd.

Maryam is very passionate about the betterment of women and women’s rights.  She is a founding member and was a Trustee of WimBiz (Women in Management, Business and Public Service) the premier women leadership development organization in Nigeria.  She is a sponsor of Let’s Save a Life Foundation, an organization focused on prenatal health and reduction of death during childbirth for women in rural areas. 

Maryam graduated with a B.sc in Business Administration Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria and received an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Jos, Nigeria
